Religious Education (CCD)

Growing in knowledge of God, Scripture, and Catholic faith.

What is Religious Education (CCD)?

Religious Education — often referred to as CCD (Confraternity of Christian Doctrine) — is the parish formation program designed to help children grow in their Catholic faith, knowledge of Scripture, and understanding of the teachings of the Church.

Through age-appropriate lessons, prayer, and community life, children learn about God’s love, the life of Jesus, the Sacraments, and how to live as disciples in everyday life.

This program supports and complements what families share at home and what children experience in Sunday Mass.

Who Participates?

  • Children in grades K through 7 who are preparing to grow in knowledge of God and Scripture.

  • Children preparing for First Holy Communion and First Confession.

  • Children seeking a solid foundation in the beliefs, prayers, and practices of the Catholic faith.

Families are encouraged to participate actively with their children in this journey of faith.

What to Expect

Participants can expect:

  • Weekly religious formation sessions led by trained catechists.

  • Age-appropriate instruction in Scripture, prayer, and Catholic teaching.

  • Opportunities to learn and practice the prayers of the Church.

  • Activities, discussions, and faith-building experiences that help children grow in their relationship with God.

Religious Education is more than a class — it is a way for children to encounter Christ and belong to the parish community.
